In Korean, Ji means “to stop” and Gam means “feelings” or “sensations.” So the word Jigam means to “stop feelings coming from the five senses” or “stop emotions.” As the name suggests, it’s a way to calm the mind and make it clear and still by refocusing your attention on energy, rather than thoughts.


Jigam is an easy method for stopping the mental chatter. It involves focusing on the feeling of qi energy that is constantly circulating inside and outside of our bodies. Jigam begins in the hands because they are especially sensitive to sensation and then spreads to your whole body.
