Solar Body Message by Ilchi Lee
Not long ago, black rain fell in China. This event, which symbolically showed us how much the planet is worn out and suffering from environmental pollution, weighed heavy on the hearts of many people.
The Earth cannot continue on its current path. The very survival of the planet cannot be guaranteed if materialism continues to expand as it is now. We must change immediately. Even if we do step on the brakes now, it will take five years just to slow the speed of material civilization because of the acceleration that has been building up. And then it will take at least another five years to slowly reach a turning point toward spiritual civilization.
Who will save a planet rushing toward an unrecoverable state, and with what? It is people who have created the problem, so it is ultimately people who should solve it. The reason we humans have built our present material civilization is that we have been pursuing material values more than anything else. To change this, we must ultimately have a transformation of values.
The money, prestige, power, and salvation most people now pursue are all artificial values. People made them, but they’re treated as absolute. Due to our pursuit of artificial values, human beings have become separated from nature; competition and conflicts have arisen between individuals and between groups; and individual lives and the natural environment are being ruined.
Mired in artificial values, many people are failing to see the importance of natural, absolute values, like sunlight, water, air, temperature, and the Earth. These values were not created by humanity. The very continuation of life, let alone civilization, is impossible without these natural, absolute values.
To change the course in which humanity is headed, we need to correct this system of inverted values, to see properly what is important in our lives, and to protect and restore natural, absolute values. It is time to think, choose, and act on standards of value that are truly right. Only then can we create a peaceful, sustainable world and find health and happiness. This is the most important reason I talk about the Solar Body. "Solar" signifies natural values, not artificial, social values.
Humans are part of nature, and our essential character reflects the harmony of the natural world. When we’re in touch with our nature, we feel at one with the greater world, pursue harmony and win-win relationships, remain centered in ourselves, and maximize our ability to heal naturally. We live naturally healthy, vital lives in communion with each other. That is the Solar Body life.
