On May 9, nearly 300 people attended a screening of the documentary Change: The LifeParticle Effect, at the QLN Conference Center in San Diego, Calif.
Mayor Jim Wood, of Oceanside, also attended the screening to offer his congratulatory address. He also declared May 9 Ilchi Lee Day in Oceanside, Calif., and presented Lee with a plaque of the proclaimation.
In his congratulatory message, Mayor Wood expressed his gratitude for "Ilchi Lee's Brain Education and brain philosophy's healing of the Oceanside's schools, youth protection facilities, military medical center, individual families and other aspects of our society" and "pray[ed] that Ilchi Lee's contributions to world education and peace will fulfill its role in eradicating poverty, illiteracy and other problems in our society."
Mayor Wood also attended the pre-screening expo to mingle with area residents. He also took advantage of the information and services, even getting an aura reading, and remained until the end of the event.
In addition, the regional manager of the Korea Daily newspaper in San Diego also attended to cover the story. "I hope Ilchi Lee's great spirit becomes widely known throughout the Korean community," he said.
