Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude in 3 Ways for Daily Magic

‘Tis the season where we sit amongst our loved ones, gathered around a table with a cornucopia of food and love. But it is not only on this day, once a year, that we should express open and heartfelt appreciation for all that we have.

Cultivating an attitude of gratitude is a daily practice. It keeps us connected with the flow of the universe and the magic that unfolds while we live in this space. Saying, “thank you” when a stranger holds a door open or when your partner does something thoughtful is good, but even better, is continually honoring the good in your life.

To live in gratitude is to honor the simple and major blessings in your life—daily. You may feel an overwhelming urge to tell the world about a good day, but what does your mind do on a not so good day?

Cultivating an attitude of gratitude allows you to see the good even when there is some bad. It requires regular and mindful action. This action can be in many forms, so long as the intention is to honor the good.

Try these three ways of expressing gratitude each day and see how your whole life changes!

1. Acknowledge Manifestation: Whether you consciously manifest through ritual or writing intentions, or not, there is magic at play in life. By taking a moment to honor the magic in receiving what you asked for, you let the universe know that you are an active player in the game of energy. “Ask and you shall receive” is something we all know, but saying “thank you” with a smile completes the circle. There are no coincidences.


2. Write it Down: There is no better way to be aware of the good in life than by taking time to write it all down and see it in your own handwriting. We may forget about simple things like being healthy or having a loving partner or a dream job. Take a few minutes before bed each night to write at least 5 things you are thankful for that day. You’ll soon realize that you have it way better than you may have previously thought.


3. Seek Gratitude: People’s energy can be contagious. If you surround yourself with people who openly and frequently express gratitude, you too will begin to adopt that mentality and habit. You’ll begin to see how easy and fun it is to live in honor of all you have. And you may even begin to see that more good is attracted to you. You’re effectively raising your vibration and sending messages to your brain and the universe that you recognize the magic, and honor it.

This practice can help you see the good in the bad and never forget that you have, at the very least, what you need to get through the day.
