"Our life always expresses the result of our dominant thoughts."
—Soren Kierkegaard
Week 2: Courage
Today is a good day to just be. Don't stop doing what you are doing, just stop doing it with all of the mental chatter.
An important element for meaningful change in your life is keeping your mind clear: clear of judgments about the present; clear of regrets about the past, and clear of concerns for the future. Keeping your mind clear helps you to live in the moment and it helps you to manage life stressors more effectively.
You can begin to realize the extent of your potential when you free up the mental space and time that is being devoted to pettiness.
Live in the moment and focus on what you are currently dealing with. It sounds so simple, but it defies most habitual behaviors. Everyone has some area where they procrastinate which begins with a single thought.
Explore your dreams and make space for them in your reality. Remember, you are never to old to dream.
Action Meditation:
You can be more creative and productive with some simple thought management.
What thought or thoughts do you need to clear out of your mind? Are any thoughts of worry or self-criticism coming up right now? You don’t have to let them snowball.
You can clear your mind by exhaling and thinking or saying the word "Clear." It may feel strange at first, but if you keep doing it you will notice that your thoughts will obey your commands.
Sit
Wherever you are, first please sit down. You can meditate in any position, but it is best for your situation to be in a position that is both relaxed and alert.
To keep your back straight during meditation you may lean against a wall or pillow.
Look
Pick up your LifeParticle Card (or find a digital version at
ChangeYourEnergy.com); take 30 seconds to look at the LifeParticle Sun. This will help you shift your focus to what you want to achieve.
Visualization
Visualize the negative thoughts as clouds in the sky. Take a deep breath and as you exhale imagine them blowing away. Keep doing this until you can imagine a clear blue sky.
Breathe
Now close your eyes, take a deep breath and slowly exhale until you empty out your lungs. Relax your shoulders and breathe like this two more times.
Release
Keep your eyes closed and reflect on all of the things in your list. Relax your body and breathe in gratitude for each item.
Begin deep breathing again and with each exhale imagine something disappears from the room. Keep breathing and emptying the space around you for two minutes.
Finish
When you are done, shake your shoulders vigorously for 30 seconds to release any remaining tension. Do you feel lighter?
Now you can begin to feel free to release everything you know about your situation and get a fresh perspective.
Affirm
Now say the weekly affirmation out loud. If possible, look at yourself in the mirror.
"I am letting go and accepting change in my life. I trust that all is flowing in accordance with my highest good."
