Brain Education for Brain Mastery Step Four Brain Integrating
Have you ever felt that you really want something, say, to be more punctual, but other habits and desires got in your way of obtaining it—for example, loving to stay up all night? Or have you always wished to be more creative, but felt stuck every time you attempted a creative act, such as picking up a pencil and drawing something?

We all have many parts of what we think of as our selves. They developed as a result of our circumstances and inclinations, often unconsciously, forming an overall matrix that keeps us strapped to a certain path, one on which we may not want to be.

This matrix is expressed in the pathways of our brain. The connections and levels of activity in our brain reflect who we have been thus far. But these are malleable. We can form new connections and reroute old ones. We can make dormant areas more active, and most importantly, we can help all of the many different areas of the brain with their different functions work together in concert and in alignment with a particular purpose.

The process of making the different areas of your brain work together creatively and productively for a particular goal is the fourth step of Brain Education: Brain Integrating.

Brain Integrating involves:
  1. Becoming mindful of how you see yourself and the world.
  2. Accessing the greater wisdom of the universe.
  3. Discovering your life purpose or long-term goals.
  4. Reconstructing your identity so that it matches your purpose.

In the first three steps of Brain Education, you became more sensitive to what is going on within and around you and aware of the flow of energy in everything. You also broke down your preconceptions about yourself and the world and cleared away many old emotions. Now you’re ready to examine more deeply who you think you are and what you really want to be and do. In a relaxed state with your mind open, ask yourself questions such as:

  1. What kind of person have I been?
  2. What kind of person do I want to become?
  3. What do I want my life to be like?
  4. What are my goals?
  5. What past pain am I ready to forget?
  6. Who do I need to forgive?
  7. What quality do I most want to develop in myself?

Trust yourself and the answers that come to you. At the same time, if you don’t feel clear or satisfied, keep asking yourself questions until you feel confident. These are questions about yourself, so you already have all of the answers. Just suspend your judgment and let them come out.

To put yourself in the best frame of mind to answer these questions, practice Brain Wave Vibration first. Brain Wave Vibration is an easy and simple way to slow your brain waves down into a meditative alpha state in which your mind feels calm, open, and connected to everything. It’s also a good way to integrate the different areas of your brain.

Brain Wave Vibration uses repetitive rhythmic vibration to tone down the activities of the neocortex, activate the limbic system, and allow you to connect with the life energy that resides in your brain stem. Playing music with a strong, rythmical drum beat can help your body find its own rhythm.

Brain Wave Vibration—Standing Posture
  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Let your hands hang at your sides in total relaxation.
  2. Begin by slightly bouncing your knees up and down. Let this movement expand through your whole body, until every part of your body is shaking up and down in unison.
  3. Gradually let the natural vibration of your body take over. Let your body create its own rhythm. Feel everything in your body, including your lips, tongue, eyes,and skin. Your breath will naturally become synchronized with your movements. Release any self-consciousness that interferes with giving free rein to your movements. Do not be upset when stray thoughts and emotions enter your mind. Just let them pass.
  4. As you continue to vibrate, imagine your brainstem, located at the base of the skull, glowing with energy. Imagine this energy slowly spreading up into your brain, down your spine, and out through your nervous system until every cell of your body is bathed in energy.
  5. Your conscious awareness will disappear as you become aware of only the vibration. Once your body feels relaxed and loose, slow your vibrating gradually and sit quietly.
  6. Observe your pulse, breath, and mind. Calm your breathing and focus your mind on your lower abdomen.
  7. While sitting and resting, focus intently on your pulse, breath, and mind. Feel gravity pulling your body toward the Earth, and feel the circulation of energy throughout your body. Focus on your abdomen to pull the energy toward your body’s center.

Then, to help you find creative ways to apply your answers to your daily life, practice exercises that help harmonize the different parts of your brain and use brain areas that may be rusty. Here are two examples you can try.

Circuit Drawing
  1. Draw an infinity symbol (sideway number eight) on a sheet of paper. It’s better to use large paper so your whole arm can move, not just your wrist.
  2. Do this for several minutes until the movement is smooth and balanced.
  3. After the symbol becomes relatively easy to draw, switch directions.
  4. Now switch hands and try the same thing with your nondominant hand. Continue until the movement is smooth and relaxed. Also, try drawing it with your eyes closed.

Music Drawing
  1. Gather 3 stylistically distinct instrumental songs. For example, try a lighthearted polka, a soft lullaby, or a booming orchestra piece.
  2. Sit comfortably with eyes closed, quietly listening to one of the songs. Notice any colors or feelings that come to mind.
  3. Gather crayons whose colors best seem to represent the song.
  4. Now play the song again, this time “drawing it.” Let your hand move freely in response to the music. Do the same for the other 2 songs.

Next, use affirmations with body movement to incorporate the new identity you want into your consciousness. Choose statements such as, “I am courageous,” “I am free,” “I am punctual,” “I speak with an influential voice,” and repeat them several times while you move your body at the same time. Choose any movement you like, but make the movement and say the affirmation out loud using 100 percent of your power. Practice this exercise everyday until you believe the statements you are making.

Finally, make a plan for what actions you will take to be those characteristics and achieve your life purpose.

With the steps and exercises of Brain Integrating, you can reunite the diverse processing centers of the brain, reviving dormant connections between thought, emotion, and reasoning and helping you to discover your true self.
